Shri Gujarati Samaj, renowned for providing quality education, has a glorious reputation in the field of education. It has been serving the society in the sphere of academics for the last 99 years. The dream of a few Gujarati families to educate their own children, gradually transformed into a dream for the whole society and took shape as reality in the form of Shri Gujarati Samaj. Shri Gujarati Samaj, Indore which was limited to a single room, has now become a gigantic organisation, owning 3 Campuses.
At present, Shri Gujarati Samaj is serving the people of Indore as a dedicated educational and social organization. There are 9 colleges and 6 schools run by Shri Gujarati Samaj, with around 1,500 teachers and other employees, where approximately 26,284 students are pursuing their studies in various streams for shaping their futures. It is a matter of pride for the Samaj that the stars of Shri Gujarati Samaj are sparkling at the top most positions. For the convenience of its students, Shri Gujarati Samaj is runing 81 buses, 8 small vechicles [Bolero and Toofan] & 1 Pickup Vechicle mostly on every route of the city. Operating with the Facilities of GPS, Camera, Seat Belt, Speed Governer according to the rules of Governance. Shri Gujarati Samaj is serving not only in the educational field, but in the medical field also. To educate students in the field of medicine, the Samaj is running a college named SKRP Gujarati Homeopathy Medical College and Research Centre. In 2005, the Samaj started a B.Ed. College to contribute more in the area of education. by nurturing future teachers. Moreover, in 2006, Shri Gujarati Samaj started a new college, Shri Jayantilal Hirachand Sanghvi Gujarati Innovative College of Commerce & Science to provide such education which carves students into professionals with a strong base of ethics and values. Similarly in 2007, keeping in view the importance of Pharmacy, the Samaj opened a Pharmacy college named Smt. Nutanben Mansukhbhai Turakhiya Gujarati College of Pharmacy.
Apart from educational activities, Shri Gujarati Samaj is also working in other areas for serving the society. The Samaj organizes various linguistic and cultural exchange programmes which serve as a link between Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. For Gujarati travelers coming from various parts of India, Shri Gujarati Samaj has established a Guest House where 200 people can be accommodated at one time. It has 20 AC rooms and 2 common halls. Shri Gujarati Samaj has also built two banquet halls for organising various social programmes,. At the basement of the Guest House, Scheme No. 54 &Navlakha the Samaj has opened a health centre (GYM) which is equipped with state of the art machines. Under the aegis of Homeopathy College, 8 OPD’s are being run, where treatment is provided at minimum charges.
As part of its responsibility towards women, Shri Gujarati Samaj endeavours to make them self-reliant. With this aim, the Samaj is providing free training of sewing and sewing machines. 1,513 women’s have already been benefited under this. Shri Gujarati Samaj provides financial help to Gujarati Students aspiring for higher education and also waive the fees of other needy students.
Medical facilities are also being provided to Gujarati brothers and sisters by Shri Gujarati Samaj. Senior citizens (over 65 years) are given Rs. 500/- per month and those over 75 years Rs. 600/- per month together in every three months.
Those Gujarati families who are in financial need and have girls of marriageable age are given a financial aid of Rs. 15,000/- as gift.
